no picture on the screen), you may reset the video output on the PLAYSTATION 3
to a factory default setting.
1.. If the PS3 is on, hold the power button for 5 seconds, it will beep once then power down.
2.. Release the power button then press and hold it for another 5 seconds.
3.. The PLAYSTATION 3 will reboot and all the video output setting will be reset.
4.. Reset your display settings to how you require them.

PS2 Reset Parental Control
--------------------------
- Bring up a screen where the unit asks you to enter in the parental code. You can either insert a restricted disc, or enter the DVD setup menu and go to "parental control" under custom setup.
- When the screen asks for the code, press the SELECT button, then enter in the code "7444". - The level adjustment under Parental Control dictates the strictness of the player. The lower the value, the more strict it will be. Either increase the value to lower the restriction, or disable the lock entirely by setting it to "off". - Once you have made your adjustments, be sure that the DVD tray is empty, and press the RESET button on the front of the Playstation 2. It is imperative the tray is clear of any DVD or game for the unit to save your settings.

PS3 Only Some Discs Load

Turn off the BD 1080p 24Hz Output(HDMI) option
If the Blu-ray Disc™ does not support 1080p 24Hz video mode, the video output may
not display properly. Go to [BD 1080p 24Hz Output(HDMI)]
under (Settings) > (Video Settings) and select "Off".

Blu-ray Disc accessing BD-Live content
If a Blu-ray Disc movie is not loading properly or is freezing on a title screen,
this may be caused by the PLAYSTATION 3 attempting to download BD-Live content
from congested movie studio servers. If you experience this issue, you may choose
to temporarily bypass the BD-Live content until the congestion at the movie studio
servers has cleared.
Go to (Settings) > (Video Settings) > [BD Internet Connection],
select "Confirm". Then reload the Blu-ray movie and the PLAYSTATION 3 will prompt
you if you wish to allow the disc to access BD-Live content. Choose to not access
BD-Live content to see if the movie will now load.

HDCP Compliancy (for Blu-ray Disc with video content)
If using HDMI cables, confirm whether the disc you are trying to play has
High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) built in. If so, confirm that the
TV or display you are using is also HDCP compliant. Copyright-protected Blu-ray
video discs can only be output at 1080p using an HDMI cable connected to a device
that is compatible with the HDCP standard.

Advanced Access Content System (AACS) for Blu-ray Disc content
Blu-ray Disc uses the Advanced Access Content System (AACS) for audio/video
content protection. If the Blu-ray Disc does not play, you may need to update your
PLAYSTATION 3 to the latest system software to ensure the latest AACS keys have
been updated.

Macrovision Information (for DVD copyright protection)
If the PLAYSTATION 3 is connected to the television through a VCR, you may not
be able to view DVD movies. This is because of the copyright protection coding that
has been programmed into the discs by the DVD manufacturers. If the PS3 system is
installed directly to a VCR or TV/VCR combo, please try connecting the PS3 system
directly to the TV's video/audio inputs for DVD movie playback.

Some DVDs are preset with parental control restrictions. Enter the password that
was set in "Security Settings" to temporarily increase the viewer age restriction
level. Look below for information regarding parental controls on the PLAYSTATION 3.

Some BDs are preset with parental control restrictions. Enter the password that
was set in "Security Settings" to change the parental control level. Look below
for more information regarding parental controls on the PLAYSTATION 3.

The BD may be disc-locked. Enter the password that was set when the disc was created.

Parental controls for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The PLAYSTATION 3 system has security features that will restrict local content
(i.e. digital content stored on the hard disk drive and content on storage media
and discs including games, but not online content).

For parental controls other than what is listed below, see Parental controls for
the PLAYSTATION 3 Internet Browser and Parental controls on the PlayStation Network.
To Adjust the PLAYSTATION 3 Security Settings
In the XMB™ home menu, go to (Settings) > [Security Settings] and select one of
the six options:

Change Password
Note: The password is set to [0000] in the default settings.
Change the password that is required to access restricted content. The old password
must be entered before a new one may be set. Be sure to record the new password as
it is required to change Security Settings in the future, including all of the
Parental Controls listed below.
If you have forgotten the password, please send an email to Consumer Services with
your date of birth.

BD Parental Control
Note: A password is required to change this setting.
Set the level of restriction for Blu-ray Disc (BD) movie content. Note that not
all Blu-ray movies are compatible with this setting. Options include:
Do Not Restrict (Off)
Play any BD regardless of parental control level.
Restrict (On)
Only play BDs with the specified parental control level. After [Restrict (On)] is set, you can select an age restriction on the next screen.
Note that the lower the value, the greater the restriction.

BD/DVD Parental Control Region Code
Note: A password is required to change this setting.
Set a region as a basis for Blu-ray movie parental control levels. Note, this
setting determines the level of restriction for Blu-ray or DVD movies on the
PLAYSTATION 3 system; it does not determine what region Blu-ray or DVD movies will
be playable on the system. Options include:
United States
The default value is set as "United States" and this sets standard parental control
levels for the United States.
Other
This sets standard parental control levels for other regions. If you
select [Other] you can select a region on the next screen.

DVD Parental Control
Note: A password is required to change this setting.
Set the level of restriction that will be applied to DVD movie playback.

not correspond to a specific movie rating. Note that not all DVD movies are
compatible with this setting. Options include:
Off
Play any DVD regardless of parental control level.
Level 8 - 1
Only play DVDs with the specified parental control level.
Note: the lower the value, the greater the restriction.

Parental Control
Note: A password is required to change this setting.
Set the level of restriction that will be applied to Games and other content.

be entered in order for the movie to play. The level of a game or other
content is set by the publisher and therefore the parental control levels on

not all games are compatible with this setting. Options include:
Off
Play any DVD regardless of parental control level.
Level 11 - 1
Only play DVDs with the specified parental control level.
Note: the lower the value, the greater the restriction.

Internet Browser Start Control
Note: A password is required to change this setting.
This will restrict access to the Internet Browser via password protection.
Options include:
On
Start Control is enabled - password is required to launch the PLAYSTATION 3
Internet Browser
Off
Start Control is disabled - Internet Browser can be used without password
See Parental Controls for the Internet Browser for more information about the
Start Control and Internet Browser security.
